I would also suggest donations to the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for relief efforts in connection with Hurricane Katrina. NAMB promises that 100% of your donation will go directly to flood relief; the SBC itself picks upp all the overhead. They have disaster relief teams already trained and working there in Louisiana and points east. There are approximately 110 Southern Baptist units (feeding, recovery, shower, communication) activated at this time.
