My brother-in-law is here visiting this weekend, and he says Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier is a good book–but very sad. I have it on my reading list, and BIL says he’ll loan or give me his copy if he can find it. I’d like to read it. Eldest daughter wanted me to take her to see the movie when she was home from college recently, but I was not at all sure I’d like the movie. I’d rather read the book first, and the the movie is rated R. I imagine it’s rather graphic since it got an R rating. I can deal with graphic or even lurid in print, but not played out in full color on the screen
