This just in:

From a member of my former church:

Please pray for Jay Fondren (service man from Corsicana) Jay is married to Anne, who is the daughter of Wycliff missionaries in Africa. Last Spring, Jay entered the military and was sent to Iraq, where he was hit by a roadside bomband critically wounded. He is currently in Germany, being prepared to fly to Walter Reed Hosp. At this point it is known that he has lost both legs, a thumb and may possibly lose his whole right hand. His left leg is off below the knee. I know all of this is not necessary to tell all of this to you, but it really touched my heart so I have included it with my heartfelt thanks to men like Jay who are “willing to put themselves in danger” in order to protect all of us. As we pray for ALL our servicemen and women, let’s be sure and include Jay, his wife Anne and their new son Micah.

  1. We know your parents from being in the same Sunday School class at First Baptist, Corsicana. We are now members of First Baptist, Dallas. Just know that you are in our prayers, our church prayer list and every Sunday you are prayed for in our Sunday School class. You have been added to other prayer chains. We pray for you and your family. As an American we are very proud of your service to our country and pray the Lord will bless you because of it. Wishing you and your whole family a very Merry Christmas.

  2. Jay,

We have never met, but you are truly an inspiration to my daddy (Richard Washington). Your courage and perseverance represent a true child of GOD. I was privileged enough to have studied under your mother many years ago, and I remember her vividly. I am sure that the spirit of your mother lives in you! God Bless You!
