Law and Order Argues for Life?

In this recent episode of Law and Order, based loosely on the murder of abortionist George Tiller, a TV show seems to present a fair and balanced and truthful view of abortion. What’s up with that?

  1. I’ve noticed that Law and Order allows (and even champions) the “conservative” point of view pretty often. It’s one of the reasons I like the show–it manages to make even pro-lifers, on the whole, look reasoned and sane.

  2. I’ve been hearing talk about this too! Wish I’d seen the episode. I stopped watching around the time Lenny died but I find that show is really quite good at showing both sides of the coin. On Law & Order: SVU one of the officers is even Catholic bringing lots of “the other side’s” viewpoint.

  3. Powerful. They *did* manage to slip in a little dig about how pro-lifers should be anti-capital-punishment (which is rubbish, as I’ve blogged about myself – http://tinyurl.com/prolifecontradiction). Overall, though, they gave a very fair hearing to the pro-life side. I’m actually wondering if they were as fair to the other side. (I can’t really assess it since I don’t understand that side.)

  4. gosh, I actually did not watch the episode because I assumed, wrongly it seems, that it was going to be very anti-pro-life. I just hate yelling at the TV screen…I will have to watch it now.
