Saturday Review of Books: April 19, 2008

Anyone who has a book collection and a garden wants for nothing.”
Cicero

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.

Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

  1. Love, love, love your quote this week. Describes me perfectly!

I’m celebrating my 100th post with a big giveaway this week, I’m so excited!

  2. I was offline getting peace and quiet last Saturday, so I have a slew of books this week, mostly good. I loved Road from Coorain, a good memoir especially about learning and identity. I was impressed by Oscar Wao, and satisfied by the ending of Y the Last Man. I just started Calvino’s If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller, and it’s rough going.

  3. Thank you for including me! I’ve never been to your site before.. it’s great. I included another review but didn’t know how to put the name of the book on the list.. help!

  4. Lisa: I fixed it. All you do is type in the title of the book in parentheses after your name. I’m glad you found us. Come back any Saturday.

Zetor: I fixed yours, too. It was working, just didn’t have the book title.

  5. Hi, I love this site.
But I have a problem, I registered but I don’t know how to write the name of the book and the summary
    Help!

  6. Hi, Thanks for hosting this….it’s my first visit to your blog.
(Delvina, you need to write your book review on you own blog and copy and paste the link to in in the Mr Linky above.)
