Saturday Review of Books: November 18, 2006

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.

Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking. Visit Semicolon’s Amazon Store for more great book recommendations.

  1. Hi, Sherry, hope it’s allowed to link two reviews (which i just did). As a slow reader, I rarely get around to reading two books in a week, unless the second one is a kids’ book. The Christmas book has some nice take-away features and because its seasonal, just wanted to give it some timely exposure.

As always, I so appreciate this vehicle for giving a review more legs!

  2. Hello Sherry – I just added my review of The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, which I thought was an amazingly poetic, and thought provoking book. Please check it out and thanks for setting this up. It’s awesome!

  4. My review is on Playstation Nation – protect your child from video game addiction. I think it is an important read for parents of children who are interested in gaming.

Heading off now to read some reviews…:)

  5. Anne Bradstreet: A Guided Tour of the Life and Thought of a Puritan Poet by Heidi Nichols is a great introduction to the works of America’s first published poet. Excerpts of her work are included in my review.
