Saturday Review of Books: November 4, 2006

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.

Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking. Visit Semicolon’s Amazon Store for more great book recommendations.

  1. I’ve been trying for two weeks to carve out time to write a review of the great little book. The Withrow’s are filling a longstanding void with the beginning of this church history series for young (and older) people.

I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did. The chapters can be used apart from the whole book too. This is great because it’s hard to find acessable info on, say, Polycarp.

    Thanks for this opportunity, Sandy!

  2. Sherry,

    Thanks for this weekly treat!

We kicked off our Rememberance Day/Veteran’s Day series with “What We Remember” a book of 6 true stories of the impacts of war. I hope you enjoy listening,
    Andrea

  3. I read Basket Moon this week – should have looked for something pecan-related, though. My father brought over two pecan pies he made and we’ve been enjoying them. Wish you were here!

  4. I am late! But I thought I would put my review up anyway. My twin sister and blogging partner Janice just found you this week and then we forget yesterday to link up! Oops. Hopefully we will do better next time! 🙂
