  1. I used to read PDJames a lot. Have not read this one. Love the cast but like you, I don’t know if I will see the movie.

  2. I am hoping to read the book this summer. After reading your review I was reminded of a conversation I had with a Chinese exchange student. She was mourning the fact that her son didn’t have any cousins. She had aunts, uncles, cousins etc. But the one-child policy wipes out the extended family in only 2 generations. She was fascinated by homeschooling but was concerned because her child would never meet another child if he didn’t go to school. She didn’t really have that option but she was thinking.

  3. Hi Sherry! I will be seeing and reviewing Children of Men, but some things that I’ve already read have said that it is significantly different from the book. Although the movie is exciting, it is basically a “chase movie” rather than a philosophical discussion of the issue. I love the slow and almost-against-his-will change of Theo, and I’m sure the movie won’t be able to capture that. I’ll let you know when I’ve seen it!
    Great site!
