I’ve been re-reading The Singer by Baptist pastor and poet Calvin Miller. The book and its two sequels, The Song and The Finale are subtitled “a mythic retelling of the New Testament.” The Singer stars Jesus as The Singer and Satan as World-hater. Here are a few quotes to whet your appetite:

My husband and I got that triology for our wedding. Haven’t had a chance to read them yet.
Nice to hear someone else has heard about them — and to hear the history of the author I’d never even heard of before!
I read that Trilogy in middle school. Made quite an impact. Reread it about a decade ago. I’ld like to locate a copy and read it again.
