Here’s a good blog post on one of my favorite mystery writers, Erle Stanley Gardner (found via View from the Foothills) at a blog called The Forager. I would add only that mystery writers shouldn’t usually be too intellectual or literary. The exceptions are Dorothy Sayers and P.D. James; they’re good and literary.
